Erie County and Buffalo free clothes, furniture, and school supplies.

Find where to turn to for free clothes, work attire, back to school supplies, furniture and other basic needs in Erie County New York. Free clothing closets as well as furniture banks or distribution centers provide goods to the needy as well as low income. Many of the programs rely on donations so they have limited resources and they may also focus their aid on children and people faced with a crisis.

The clothing closets and/or furniture banks in Buffalo or the county can be run from churches or non-profits like the Salvation Army. If you do not qualify for free goods, like clothes or appliances or household furniture, then look into buying needed items at a thrift store. Also, during the cold western New York winters, some of the centers may provide free winter coats and boots to children. Other centers may focus on infants, pregnant mothers, and newborns.
