El Paso County Colorado free holiday assistance programs.

Charities, churches, and non-profits in El Paso County as well as the city of Colorado Springs provide assistance during the holidays. The amount of free food, toys, Christmas gifts offered will vary based on donations, but almost every charity will only offer holiday help to registered households.

In general, the Thanksgiving and Christmas meal or food programs are open to anyone in the county, regardless of their income. However the free Christmas gift programs are generally for either low income families or those that are in a financial crisis. But as noted, each and every el Paso County non-profit will have their own individual application process as well as eligibility criteria.

When applying for help at Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, be sure to bring proof of residency, age, and income. Also the toys, clothes, and even food (such as Turkeys) are given out first come and served. So apply for assistance early at one or more of the agencies below.

El Paso County toys for Tots is offered by the US Marine Cops and local charities. The groups accept toys, games, clothes, books, money and more from the public. The free toys and Christmas gifts are then passed out to qualified, registered kids under the age of 14.
