While there are many pantries, as listed below, that directly serve residents, Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado, the county's Feeding America affiliate, supplies food to more than 300 partner agencies across the region and operates its own Sunnyside Market in southeast Colorado Springs — a client-choice grocery market open to anyone. Springs Rescue Mission, Westside Cares, and Ecumenical Social Ministries are among the most active community programs serving Colorado Springs residents directly.

Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado

The Feeding America-affiliated food bank for 31 counties across Southern Colorado, founded in 1972. Care and Share supplies food to more than 300 partner pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and community programs throughout the region. The Sunnyside Market at the Preamble Point campus is a free, client-choice grocery market open to any El Paso County resident — shoppers browse and select their own items including fresh produce, dairy, meat, and shelf-stable goods.

  • Care and Share also administers TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) and the senior-focused Commodity Supplemental Food Program, runs a Children's Nutrition Initiative at 70+ sites, and operates monthly Mobile Food Pantry events throughout Southern Colorado. The county's social services agency processes applications for SNAP food stamps, WIC nutrition benefits, Medicaid, and other public assistance programs. Ecumenical Social Ministries (ESM)

One of downtown Colorado Springs' most versatile emergency assistance organizations, ESM serves zip codes 80903, 80905, 80906, 80907, 80909, 80910, and 80916. Silver Key Senior Services

The primary senior-focused food and social services organization in El Paso County, Silver Key provides home-delivered Meals on Wheels for homebound seniors, congregate lunch programs at senior centers, and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) — a monthly box of USDA commodities including canned protein, juice, cheese, and shelf-stable goods for income-eligible seniors aged 60 and older. Springs Rescue Mission

Colorado Springs' largest and most comprehensive resource for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, or food insecurity. The 450-bed campus at 5 W. Las Vegas Street serves three nutritious meals daily — open to anyone in need. The food pantry provides groceries on weekday afternoons. Additional services on campus are offered too. Bag lunches are also distributed to the working homeless and others unable to visit the campus during standard hours.

 

 

 

Salvation Army of El Paso County – Colorado Springs Corps

The main Colorado Springs Salvation Army operates a food pantry open several days per week on a walk-in basis — bring photo ID, proof of address, and income documentation.
