Food banks, free groceries and pantries in Dutchess County.

Groceries, meals, and other hunger prevention services are provided from food pantries in Dutchess County New York. The distribution centers, many of which are run from charities or churches, give priority to those residents that are most at risk. There are free groceries, personal toiletries and even dog or cat food.  Find a food pantry in your area of Dutchess County.

A focus is families with children, single moms or dads, senior citizens, and the disabled. They will tend to be first in line for any available private or government funded food assistance programs. Case managers at many of the pantries try to help clients in other ways as well. They can direct individuals to longer term support, such as Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WOC) or food stamps / SNAP. The non-profit agency provides the low income, children, and elderly with support. They can receive a free package of groceries and food.   • The Welcome Table is also offered, and this is a free lunch available in the parish hall of St. Charles Borromeo.
