The resources from the Salvation Army center in Duchess County are available as a last resort to struggling families and individuals. There may be funds for paying rent, utility bills, transportation and more. Or get supplies ranging from free school supplies to food from a pantry in Poughkeepsie or Beacon as well as Christmas toys from Angel Tree.

The Salvation Army center will focus on the most vulnerable, including senior citizens, the disabled, the homeless and working poor in the community. More information on the various forms of assistance which may be available, based on resource availability, is below.

When it comes to financial support in the Duchess County region, the Salvation Army may be able to help on occasion. However this will depend on funding levels from both private donations from partners such as the United Way and government grants. Much more likely will be the provision of more material type goods, such as clothing, free boxes of food, or Christmas toys for children from low income families.

The non-profit works to keep families fed and clothed. They also offer support to both senior citizens as well as children in the community, with an emphasis of assisting during the holiday time frames. To meet the demands of the community, there may be the following offered.

Free Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving programs are always a focus. The Salvation Army in Duchess County always wants to spread the holiday spirit to the most vulnerable in the community.
