Douglas County rental assistance programs.

Rent assistance in Douglas County Kansas is combined with other forms of financial aid to address housing needs. The charities, churches, and government offices below are the primary places to call for help. Everything from grants that are used for emergency rental assistance to short term housing or even loans may be provided.

Assistance is available in a non-duplicative manner. This means that a tenant, or homeless person seeking housing, can only get rent assistance or other support from one organization at a time. They can’t get to multiple sites to apply. But the programs assist low income individuals of all backgrounds, including veterans, single moms or dads, and the underemployed.

Whether it is financial aid for paying rent, moving costs, or money for a security deposit, help is offered. If not qualified, or if funds have run out, then referrals may be provided instead to another agency for rental assistance grants. The fact is many housing and homeless prevention solutions are offered in Douglas County.
