Several agencies provide rent assistance, grant money to pay security deposits, homeless shelters and other housing services in Douglas County Georgia. There are charities, churches, and government affiliated agencies (including the Douglas County Continuum of Care and Housing Authority) which offer help. Housing assistance in the Douglasville area and county can come in many forms. There may be some or all of the following.

Salvation Army of Douglas County help the homeless and low income as well as single moms. Douglas County Housing Authority processes applications to section 8 housing vouchers. There are income-based apartments, low-cost housing and other resources. Douglasville and County free Legal Aid Society helps the poor, seniors, and those facing housing discrimination. Get free legal aid to stop evictions, address unsafe housing or harassment from landlords and even help applying for government aid, including Section 8 HCV. Call (404) 524-5811.

Douglas County Continuum of Care Coalition is various charities and others who advocate for fair and equal housing. They also operate the Street to Home rehousing program which may have security or utility deposit help, short term housing placement, and other financial aid. (Dial 770) 595-6535.

Good Samaritan Center of Douglasville supports the county. There are resources, such as financial that can help pay bills or rent. Other resources include a free furniture bank which can help furnish a home or apartment, transitional housing, and ongoing case management to address the crisis. Homeless shelters, transitional housing and rehousing in Douglas County

Douglas County Homeless Shelter and Transitional Housing. This can be short term stay for the homeless and provide meals, clothes, and also mid-term transitional housing as well as job programs. Single women only can use the emergency housing at JC Freedom House. It is in Douglasville, Georgia 30133. Dial the non-profit at 770-675-3817. It is a homeless shelter that helps women, including those faced with violence.
