Short term transitional housing and homeless shelters in Denver.

Find information on free transitional housing programs as well as homeless shelters in the Denver County Colorado area. Several non-profits and charity organizations help the homeless (single adults or families with kids), people facing imminent eviction, and those looking for stability with their housing situation. Locate temporary housing near you in the Denver CO community.

Not only can the organizations provide people a place to stay over the short term (normally a homeless shelter), but case managers from the centers will help clients find a new, low income and affordable home or apartment in Denver. As there are programs for substance abusers, free motel vouchers and hotel rooms too for short term needs.

People can also get details on programs to help them pay the rent or security deposit on their new apartment or home. However those funds are very limited. An alternative may be the section 8 housing choice voucher program, which can often help the very low income or recently homeless.

The demand for any type of temporary, transitional housing assistance is very high, both in Denver and surrounding counties. So the space at many of these units is limited and/or there may be an extensive waiting list. Call for more details or possible referrals to other nearby organizations.
