Thrift store, food, meals, and free basic needs from St. Vincent de Paul

One of the main resources available from SVDP in Denton County, that is in fact “open” to the public for anyone to use, is the thrift store. Now most people will need to pay some costs for what they need. But in some cases, if an individual qualifies, they may be given some items for free. But this is normally for an exceptional circumstance, such as a family impacted by a fire or some one time financial crisis.

The thrift store has a diverse set of items for sale. They will be more affordable as well as gently used. It is often combined with free food from the on site pantry. Or clothes from a clothing bank. As the approach is that anyone that receives free items from the thrift store more then likely has other needs as well, namely food and groceries for their family. Or there may also be free furniture, items for school or college, appliances, and other basic needs.

Both of these services rely on donations from Denton County community. Please donate furniture, household items, surplus food, toys, games, books, and more. Society of Saint Vincent de Paul uses them wisely to help the less fortunate. In addition the donor is given a receipt for tax filing purposes. So either donate or even volunteer at the non-profit. The Plano thrift store is at 3305 N. Central Expressway, Plano, TX 75023.
