Delaware free holiday and Christmas assistance.

Holiday and Christmas meals and toys are provided by several agencies in Delaware. Most of the non-profits that administer these programs only focus on low income families from the immediate area of where they are located, but they may also have referrals. Clients to these holiday programs include children, senior citizens, and single moms that are looking for presents for their child.

Most of the Delaware agencies operate on the Adopt a Family model. This means that volunteers and collections occur in the community, and what is donated will be given to income qualified families. In addition to passing out items such as toys, games, or books, there will also usually be Christmas or Thanksgiving meals served too. The enrollment period in Delaware will normally open up in September or October of each year, but the specifics vary.
