Find a listing of free non-profit HUD approved foreclosure counseling agencies in California that help homeowners as well as potential buyers. They give free, expert advice on everything having to do with owning a home, including help with delinquent mortgages, fair housing counseling, budgeting and they also assist tenants too. Get help from a HUD counselor in CA that may be near you.

Every one of these agencies can provide a homeowner or current renter with access to a highly trained housing or mortgage counselor. Homeowners will have an opportunity to sit down and meet face to face with these counselors or have a phone call. There is information on refinancing or modifying a home loan, reverse mortgage counseling for seniors, and help understanding the home buying process. Much more is available too.

The HUD counseling process is in depth. The counselor will need to understand the clients personal and financial situation, including debts, expenses, income, and other factors. Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers and counselors help low-income families and single moms with homeownership. There will be some houses built, even for veterans in CA. In addition, they are a HUD counseling agency that will educate homeowners on maintaining their home to protect its value and avoid costly repairs. Some repairs may be done by Habitat too, such as for low-income seniors or the disabled. They will also help with advice on regular maintenance tasks and when to seek professional help.
