Free clothes for work, back to school supplies, furniture and other needs are available in Brazoria County. There are a number of charities that provide this form of assistance to the working poor. There are also church run clothing closets and regional organizations in the Pearland area, including the Salvation Army, that provide free furniture and other supplies to the needy.
There are donations from the community that allow these programs to operate on an annual basis. Many volunteers also give some of their time by sorting clothes, holding fund raisers, and providing support in other ways. Kindergarten, middle school, and high school students can get free school items too or backpacks, shoes and other goods they need.

There are some in the Harris County area that can be used by Brazoria County families. Call 713-842-9771. Everything from bedroom items such as mattresses or free beds as well as kitchen goods (pots and pans, small appliances, etc.) may be offered.
