Head Start in Boston.
The federal government funded Head Start program is run by dozens of agencies across Boston Massachusetts. One agency that takes a leading role is Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. There are several different components to the program. They include the following.
Head Start in Massachusetts offers a number of free services to parents in the greater Boston area who may not normally be eligible for free dental, health, or child care. In general the program is involved in providing crucial early childhood development, education, and health and dental care to low-income children in in qualified families. The solution deals with all aspects of an individual’s development, including emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth. Almost 3,000 pre-kindergarten children throughout Boston receive help every year.
Another program in high demand is Early Head Start. This component can serve infants, pregnant women, your children, and toddlers, providing very young children in the community with free or low cost child care and helping meet their needs.
Some of the components offered by Head Start in the Boston region include.
The Good Guys program will provide resources and supports for fathers in the community who want more active participation in their children's lives.
A host of general assistance programs that are targeted at helping pregnant women, teen parents, and also low-income adults who are in need of professional development training services, health care, and/or educational assistance.
Another option is the PEECE project. This service provides educational opportunities for preschool teachers at every level of experience and schooling through a seventier professional development program.
Head Start for Homeless Children will be able to offer a menu of case management and comprehensives services to homeless children and their families in the Boston Massachusetts region.
Receive health eating advice as well as physical activity from the Living Well Task Force. This component of Head Start was developed out of a concern for childhood obesity, the program promotes and helps family and individuals and staff to develop healthy lifestyle habits and programs.
If you are suffering from depression, the Family Connection project supports individuals with this disease.
Eye exams and glasses can be proved by the Vision in PreSchoolers. Eye doctors and other medical professionals are involved in determining if certain vision tests can predict those children who would benefit for more comprehensive vision examinations and/or glasses.
