Utility and rent assistance as well as food banks

Van Buren Ozark Opportunities - The non-profit focuses on the low income and helping people overcome poverty. Most of the aid is from referrals or government benefits. Get information on regional food pantries. The non-profit can also provide a limited amount of financial assistance, help for rent and utility bills for families or individuals who are in emergency. The local Salvation Army is also a great resource. The non-profit organization can also provide assistance with utilities. Other types of aid offered include food and general medical care. Another focus is on offering seasonal aid in Northwest Arkansas, and this can include free school supplies as well as Christmas meals, gifts, and toys for children.

Thousands of families get help from the Salvation Army every year. Utility assistance is offered for older Americans. There is also SHIP advice programs that help with Medicare benefits, Developmental Disability help and other resources. Lord of the Lake Lutheran Church runs the offers a food assistance program. It basically allows people to get free or low cost groceries.. Receive fresh and frozen items, vegetables, and much more. Yellville Area Food Closet ((870) 449-8797) offers food for the low income in the community.

Community action Agency of Northwest Arkansas

Call Ozark Opportunities, Inc. - All forms of aid is offered, including electric bill assistance, food, help for rent, and Weatherization. Transportation is available for doctors appointments and job interviews. In addition counselors at the location can help people get back on their feet through job counseling, information on local charities, and other support.

Offices are located in all counties, including Boone, Marion, and others. Case managers from Ozark Opp also have information on government grants that can be used for basic needs, programs for senior citizens, and the disabled. Another focus is on assisting with homeless prevention, and they offer low income housing or funds for rental deposits as well as other support to residents. Community clinic for public health

The Arkansas Department of Health - Center for Local Public Health ((870) 743-5244) is local community clinic. Get access to public health, information on specialists, and other aid.

Boston Mountain Rural Health Clinic administers a sliding fee scale, which can help people save money on medical and dental bills.
