Bon Secours Health System They provide free or low cost health care for families and individuals who have limited incomes. The cutoff is typically at 200 percent of the federal government established poverty level. In addition to the free health care, in your income is above that level, all uninsured patients admitted to the facilities will qualify for a 30 percent discount on their hospital bills and related services.
Bon Secours has also set a maximum dollar amount that qualified people can pay on their bills. The annual household liability per family is capped at 15 percent of the household income that is in greater than 200 percent of the poverty level. Any insured patients that may be have difficulty paying their hospital bills or debt, primarily unreimbursed charges, may also qualify for assistance for paying hospital bills from several different programs and resources that are offered. Chesapeake General Hospital Provides free health care for families that have incomes that are below 200 percent of the federal government poverty level. Also, they offer discounts on medical and hospital bills for other uninsured patients. These reductions are negotiable on a case by case basis and you should contact the hospital billing office. Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters This center will also provide hospital bill reductions and savings to qualified patients. There is a sliding scale of discounts in place that are provided for incomes up to 400 percent of the poverty level. Additional savings are negotiable as well on a one-off basis. Virginia Hospital Center Patients may qualify for financial aid, discounts, payment plans and other support. To those who qualify, the hospital may provide routine diagnostic services at no charge. Individuals also get support and guidance from in-house financial counselors. They will assist patients in applying for a number of hospital bill assistance programs and free health care, including resources from Arlington County, State of Virginia and Federal assistance programs. Some of these may include Emergency Medicaid, SSI Disability, SLH, and Medicaid.

HCA Virginia Those uninsured patients who need emergency treatment from the one of the hospitals that are part of this organization may qualify for charity care. It offers support for people who meet approved low income and poverty guidelines. If your income is low enough then the hospital may provided completely free care.
If you do not qualify for the services above then discounts on your hospital bills may be provided. This is generally available from HCA for those Virginia families who do not qualify for Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicaid, or other charity programs. Assistance will usually be offered in the form of a payment plan and/or negotiated discounts.
