Rental assistance in Washington and Benton County Arkansas.

In an emergency, find help with paying rent in the greater Fayetteville and Bentonville Arkansas area. Several non-profit agencies, charities and government programs provide support to individuals or families with an eviction notice or that are homeless. While funds are limited, tenants of all ages and backgrounds can apply for rental or security deposit assistance, grant money for security deposits or get free legal aid from lawyers to stop an eviction.

A major focus is on assisting senior citizens, the disabled, veterans and single moms in Fayeteville with their housing needs.  There are also rent assistance programs for the working poor in Benton County. Whether someone needs a grant or access to non-monetary aid, such as case management or placement into a homeless shelter, agencies do coordinate housing programs for the less fortunate in the region. All applicants need to have a source of income, whether from SSI or a job. Second Mile Ministry address is 315 W Maple St, Fayetteville, AR 72701, can be reached at (479) 521-4787. Receive information from the Benefit Bank of Arkansas. Also, based on donations, small dollars amounts of financial aid, or even loans, can be used for back rent, including for mobiles home leases. Or get security deposit help or learn about government grants, SSI, or cash aid.

Compassion Center - Cross Church Of Northwest Arkansas has a thrift store and limited financial help. Location is 3157 W Sunset Ave, Springdale, AR 72762. Applicants with an eviction notice can get a grant for their rent. Assistance is also available for utilities to those with an upcoming disconnection that could lead to homelessness. Project Compassion – Springdale -Salem Lutheran Church is at 1800 West Emma Avenue, Springdale, AR 72764. Project Compassion of the Salem Lutheran Church offers assistance Wednesdays only (as funding allows). There may be money for back rent or utilities. Homeless shelters, furniture, and other housing resources may be offered too for low-income families, veterans and those near poverty. For information on financial or rent help, call them. Mission NWA Ministries has multiple locations for the poor, low income and others. Case management as well as emergency assistance can help with rental expenses. They also have information on transitional housing in Washington County.

Springdale Housing Authority offers section 8 rent vouchers, public housing, and income subsidized apartments for the city only. Dial (479) 751-0560. There may be emergency section 8 vouchers as well. The housing authority assists the low income, elderly, disabled, and working poor with their housing needs from 5 Applegate Dr, Springdale, Arkansas 72764.

The regional community action agency, the Economic Opportunity Council, can offer grants, financial aid, referrals and more. They may include information on government rental assistance. The Salvation Army – Washington County Housing Solutions address is 315 Holcomb Street, Springdale, Arkansas 72764. Rental assistance is available along with transitional housing, budgeting workshops, a thrift store, and more. Additional support for rent to prevent homelessness is for seasonal workers, such as those in construction or farm workers, during slow periods. Samaritan Community Center has everything from free basic needs to referrals as well as emergency rent payment help. They may also assist with mortgages, utility connection fees and other housing costs. The location is 1300 N Thompson St, Springdale, AR 72764. Call (479) 872-1115.

First United Methodist Church is another place for the elderly, single moms and others to go for support. Whether guidance, or a few dollars for partial rent or utility payments, the parish tries to help. Location is 201 NW Second Street, Bentonville, AR 72712. Call (479) 273-2712. Project Compassion of the Salem Lutheran Church - 1800 W. Emma Ave, Springdale, AR 72762. For applications, dial (479) 751-9359. The eviction assistance program will offer everything from one time rent help to rehousing, which can cover a portion of a security deposit.

Fayetteville Housing Authority - Address: 1 N School Ave,, Fayetteville Arkansas 72701. The non-profit partners with HUD (Housing and Urban Development) to offer section 8 vouchers, counseling for tenants, and placement into low income apartments. St Francis House assists veterans, their survivors and family members only. There is the SSVF Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program and other solutions. Get rental assistance to stop an eviction, rapid rehousing and other funds. Veterans can get help applying for VA benefits, home buying solutions, or hotel/motel vouchers in a crisis. Fayetteville Arkansas tenants and homeowners can get help. There is eviction prevention, free legal aid, cash grants for bills or rent, and advice on renting when evicted in the past. University Baptist Church, offers rental and financial aid 3 days per week as part of Second Mile (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Any funds or loans from the charity are are minimal. Legal Aid Office is a volunteer and government supported law firm in which lawyers and attorneys work for free. The location is 1905 E Mission Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703. Transitional housing and homeless shelters

The locations below can provide emergency accommodations as well as information on long term resources. This can include rehousing, money for paying for moving costs or first months rent, employment and other solutions.
