Low-income households in Vermilion County and Iroquois can turn to a free food pantry today. Some of what may be distributed by the centers include canned and boxed goods, groceries, personal toiletries, fresh food, and meals as well, such as at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The charitable run locations as well as food banks also offer free personal hygiene supplies or drive thru service to qualified low income families. The food banks are there to support families that are facing a short term emergency. They are not to be relied on for long term assistance. If a resident needs that type of support, then they should not turn to a  pantry but rather apply for benefits such as SNAP food stamps. Applicants need a referrals to use this food pantry. It can be obtained from Love, Inc., the Vermilion community action agency or DSS. Get free groceries, baby formula, shelf stable food and more. They may also have laundry detergency, soap, meats and dairy.




Holy Family Catholic Church

Vermilion County residents can use the food pantry one time per month. There are also free clothes for struggling families or single moms. Or use the Vermilion County and Iroquois County churches for Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas meals. They are part of St. Vincent de Paul.

Salvation Army of Danville

Perishable items such as eggs, meats, fruits, and vegetables may be passed out by volunteers. Children can be fed, and a meal service is for the homeless. Get fruit, meat, pasta, cereal, feminine hygiene products and other items from the pantry.

St. Paul's Catholic Church

Clothes, backpacks for children, boxes of food, and more is available. They also have dairy products, eggs, milk, and paper products like toilet paper or towels.

The Rock Food Pantry

The food bank can be used at most one time per month. Canned Vegetables, Dried Beans, Baby Formula, and other groceries may be served. Emergency boxes of food are available every other month.

Manor Community Center

The free food bank for Vermilion County also has free hygiene supplies. It is open a few days per week. Get soap, razors, shaving cream as well as a box of food. Case workers help the unemployed, working poor, and migrant farm workers among others.
