Vermilion and Iroquois County free food pantries.

Struggling households in Vermilion County and Iroquois can turn to a food pantry. Some of what may be distributed by the centers include canned and boxed goods, fresh food, and meals as well, such as at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The charitable run locations also offer free personal hygiene supplies to qualified low income families.

The food banks are there to support families that are facing a short term emergency. They are not to be relied on for long term assistance. If a resident needs that type of support, then they should not turn to a  pantry but rather apply for benefits such as SNAP food stamps. One other items to note is that a number of the locations in Iroquois County provide other, non-monetary aid such as clothes, school supplies or Christmas/Thanksgiving meals. So various assistance programs may be run.
