Ventura County free holiday and Christmas assistance.

Charities offer holiday assistance, with a focus on Christmas programs, to low income Ventura County families. Every year there are children that are given a free Christmas toy or gift card, and struggling parents may be able to obtain a meal or box of food. Programs including Toys for Tots, The Assistance League holiday support, Angel Tree and Ventura County Adopt a Family help low income families. Donations of everything from boxes of food to games, shoes, gifts and other toys are used to help residents celebrate the holidays.

There are residents of all towns in Ventura County, including Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Moorpark, Fillmore, and Ojai among others that receive help at Christmas. There are children that are the recipients of new or gently used toys and Christmas gifts during the holiday season. Seniors as well as the homebound may have a hot meal delivered to them thanks to volunteers from across the region. Together the charities and non-profits all ban together to offer holiday joy to struggling families.

A holiday toy drives takes place. Children from disadvantaged family may be given a small gift or items in a Christmas stocking. Thanksgiving and Christmas meals may be available for immigrants, families in poverty or that are facing a hardship, and the homeless.

Ventura County Sheriff
Many of the locations collect unwrapped presents from the community as part of the Share-iffs Toy Drive program. The local stations then provide gifts, such as games, books, dolls, and the like to infants and children. The Sheriff's want children to have a present to open Christmas morning. Oxnard Family Resource Center

Salvation Army Centers
Basic needs, such as food, can be combined with holiday meal baskets. Angel Tree and Adopt a family can also give presents to the less fortunate. Toys for Tots of Ventura County
This is a donation services that also helps children under the age of 14. There will be free Christmas toys, games, books, clothes, electronics, and more. The goal of the USMC Toys for Tots program in Ventura is to ensure each child, whether immigeants, Spanish speakers, or natives, have a present to open Christmas morning.
