Free holiday and Christmas assistance Tarrant County and northern TX.

Find charities and churches in the Tarrant County and Fort Worth area that provide free holiday and Christmas assistance, including free gifts or meals. Low income families in the county can get free Christmas toys, food baskets, and also Thanksgiving turkeys, and the charities or churches help qualified families in all of Tarrant, Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, and Wise County.

There are programs including Tots for Tots, Adopt a Family as well as Angel Tree, among others. Or at the minimum a Fort Worth or northern TX organization may have referrals for people in those nearby regions so they can get free toys, gifts, clothes, presents, Christmas trees and more. There are also free groceries and food baskets (along with turkey dinners) at Thanksgiving.

The exact type of goods provided around Thanksgiving or Christmas will vary. The stuff can include free toys, games, gift cards or clothing for children, meals and holiday food for anyone in need that qualifies. Some centers will hold holiday events as well, in which participants can get a gift basket or a hot meal. Many volunteers will also deliver frozen holiday or fresh meals to the elderly or homebound in the Tarrant County region, including those that reside in nursing homes.

There are several of these non-profit agencies in the region. They offer a number of assistance programs and social services to low income, unemployed, and poor. The main holiday program may be Cowboy Santas. This will provide qualified applicants with toys, meals, books, free food and games for their children. It operates across Tarrant, Johnson Hood, and other counties. They accept applications for this free Christmas program and may have information on other options as well. The offices are listed below. The Salvation Army Of northern Texas

The non-profit and its volunteers may serve a Traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkeys, stuffing, bread, and more. A Christmas Dinner is also served. Gift baskets may be provided too and the organization also runs the Angel Tree free Christmas gift program for children. There is also the Salvation Army Adopt a Family program. It may provide free assistance with Christmas gifts of toys, presents, gifts and clothing to qualifying families in Tarrant and other Counties. Tarrant County and northern Texas free Toys for Tots
There are dozens of agencies that participate. They give out free Christmas toys to kids, teenagers, and even infants. The gifts are wrapped. There may be games, books, clothes, electronics, toy trucks or dolls, Legos and so much more in Fort Worth and nearby towns and cities.

A major focus of Toys for Tots is to provide free Christmas presents  to low-income families, the working poor, and single mothers or fathers. The application period is early. Distributes new and gently used toys for children and infants of low-income families. Parents or guardians of these children may shop for free toys which includes stocking stuffers, 1 large item, 2 or smaller items.

First Baptist Church Cleburne Christmas Lunch of Johnson County

The Goodfellow Fund
This will help children from low-income Tarrant County families between the ages of 4 and 16. Proof of income and school is needed. Children can get free Christmas toys, gift cards, hygiene supplies, clothes, sneakers and more. The donation programs help unemployed and struggling parents bring holiday joy to their kids. During Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas, the faith based charity serves more holiday meals or gives out free baskets of food. There may also be gift card or certificates, a Christmas party for kids, free toys or presents, and more. They also offer year round shelter, financial aid, a pantry and other services.

Christian Community Action of Tarrant County

The site serves a hot meal and a bag of groceries on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. They may also have one free gift per child ages 16 years and under.

Tarrant County Catholic Charity churches
Regardless of religion, get year round and seasonal help. Free Thanksgiving or Christmas food baskets, meals, toys for young kids and more.
