Free food pantries, groceries and meals in Sumner County Tennessee

There are several free food pantries that provide free groceries, baby formula and food boxes to low income families and people with no money in Sumner County. People, including senior citizens, single mothers, the disabled and others will get free groceries from a food bank open today, near them in Hendersonville, Gallatin and the county. There are also applications to benefit programs. Find a free food pantry near you in Sumner County Tennessee.

Note some of the locations are located across the county lines. What is offered by each distribution center or free drive thru food bank will vary widely and some only focus on senior citizens or children. Or they give out baby formula, free Thanksgiving or Holiday meals or operate home delivery services. There are also classes or workshops, such as on cooking, use by or sell by dates, or food shopping.  Learn more on how long food is good after sell by dates.

Each of the charities and churches that run these pantries or soup kitchens would like to help everyone, however resources are limited. So while a free box of food may be passed out in a crisis, some families will need to be turned away from a pantry.

Any assistance is available on a case-by-case basis after a review of the application takes place. Sumner County meal sites and food pantries may also provide free holiday meals or food baskets during the fall and winter. Another priority is also on feeding the thousands of children that face hunger each day as well as single mom run homes, and they too can get a meal during summer.
