Seminole County food banks and pantries.

Seminole County food banks can provide assistance to struggling families as well as those that are in a crisis situation. There are non-profits that not only may be able to pass out a free box of groceries or perishable food, but they may also have other forms of non-monetary aid. This may range from personal hygiene items to free Christmas or Thanksgiving meals or gifts.

Donations are used to keep the food pantries running. There are also dozens of volunteers that work at many of the pantries. They will sort the contents, process applications, and pass out boxes to income qualified families.

The distribution centers in Seminole County will also give priority to senior citizens as well as children. Another service provided is more specialty type programs, or referrals to benefits. Examples of these may be WIC vouchers for baby formula or Meals on Wheels. All of this can also be combined together to help the less fortunate.
