Most of the agencies provide assistance from Toys for Tots, Angel Tree or an Adopt a Family type services. free toys or holiday meals. Kids can get Legos, clothes, arts and crafts, hot wheel cars or Barbie dolls and ,ore. Low-income families can get free holiday food baskets or meals too.

The primary resource in the community is known as Toys for Tots. It is run in partnership with Unity Shoppe as well as the Santa Barbara City Fire Department and dozens of other charities. People Helping People of the Santa Ynez Valley in the county

They run the Toys for Tots program too. In addition, the charity may have free holiday food (such as Turkeys or hams) in addition to Christmas programs. Other items may be books, school supplies, sports equipment and more. Clients range from single moms to senior citizens in Santa Barbara that need help at the holidays.

Additional holiday and Christmas programs
There are other places for free holiday gifts, Thanksgiving turkey dinners, meals and more. Everything from Xmas toys for children to Meals on Wheels for seniors, gift cards or gveaways and more. Call 211 for details.

  • The Santa Barbara City Fire Department - They only collect donations. New, unwrapped toys are needed. The locations include, but are not limited too, 121 W. Carrillo Street, 1802 Cliff Drive, the station at 40 Hartley Place and many others.
  • Andenberg Air Force Base "VAFB” - Marine Corps League 1340 - P.O. Box 2325, Ocrutt, California 93457-2325. The organization only support children from veterans and military families. Toys or gift cards are given, they organize Christmas and holiday meals for armed forces members, and clients can even get referred to financial aid too.

Toys for Tots of Santa Barbara
Children from low-income, unemployed and struggling families can register for free Christmas toys, games, and gifts. There is help for kids from age 0 to 14. The programs include a thrift store, food bank and clothing closet. Refugees, immigrants and single moms can get help, including during the holidays. There are free vouchers or gift cards for Christmas presents, food boxes and other programs.
