Dozens of organizations help thousands of families every month with their basic needs. the distribution centers provide free groceries, baby formula, holiday meals and more. Many charities have free drive-thru food pantries open daily too.

Resources are limited, and most pantries operate on a first come and served basis. This means that residents, including the low income, migrant workers, or unemployed should stop by early and on time in order to get free food or other forms of support. Also call in advance for hours. There is also a phone number at the bottom of the page for other food programs in San Bernardino.

Some locations may, in addition to free groceries and perishable items, will be able to provide clothing, advice, and/or classes on shopping, including unit pricing. Many of the food pantries and charities in the San Bernardino County area are also great places to learn about government programs such as CalWorks, emergency food assistance, or CalFresh EBT cards. They may also have free holiday meals (Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas), information on government commodity programs including school breakfast/lunch, and other benefits.
