Food pantries and groceries in Rock Island County.

Rock County is supported by a number of food pantries, but many of them only cover a limited region. They will also be restricted on what they can provide low income families as the centers rely on donations from people in the community. The leading food banks and pantries in Rock Island County Illinois are below, however it is recommended to call in advance for hours. Some are open daily - even today.

Some of what may be provided includes, but is not limited to, free groceries, fruits, vegetables, breads and more. Many of the charity food pantries and churches will also have other more specialty type programs available, which can include free Thanksgiving and Christmas meals or lunches for seniors or children. This pantry helps the low income and needy in the cities of East Moline, Silvis, and United Township school district. Emergency food boxes, groceries, and other assistance is offered. There is produce, rice, baby formula, and other goods.

Church of Peace

This church provides meals, guidance, and support. It only covers the City of Rock Island, Illinois, east of 11th Street to 14th Street and Seventh Avenue to 11th Avenue. There is also a soup kitchen for a free hot breakfast, lunch or dinner, including for homeless people in Rock Island County.

The Christian charity provides help to the low-income, elderly and others in Rock County, including free groceries, Christmas meals and more. There is a pantry with food, pasta, rice, canned meat or fruit and other healthy options. Kids can get a snack during the summer and single moms in Rock Island County will also get help. Programs range from Summer Feeding Program to a drive thru food pantry that is open most days. Get produce, food boxes like canned tomatoes, tuna and also free personal toiletries.

First Presbyterian Church

This location is part of the Churches United program. A number of services are offered for low income and struggling families in the community, including food and other basic needs like clothing. The food bank serves residents of Port Byron, Hillsdale, and Rapids City.
