Free food banks, pantries and groceries in the Raleigh and Wake County region.

Find the dozens of food banks, soup kitchens as well as free emergency food pantries near you in the Raleigh as well as Wake County North Carolina region. They pass out free groceries, serve meals or give out to go food boxes, personal toiletries, holiday meals, and other support to the low income and families in a crisis. Learn how and where to get free groceries or meals today from charities, churches run food pantries and other free centers.

While they do accept donations, most are also supported by the state of North Carolina non-profit regional food bank network. Get information on the main assistance programs from charities, free food pantries, government resources in Wake County such as food stamps and other options below. The food banks as well as emergency pantries are located across the entire region, including in Cary, Garner, Knightdale, and of course the city of Raleigh itself.

The food pantries can be located in a church, a community action agency, government office, or other local businesses. This means that the entire focus is on serving low income families. Almost all locations will serve people of all backgrounds and income, and at least provide them with some sort of free food, groceries, meals, free holiday or Christmas meal assistance or Thanksgiving Turkey dinner. They help the elderly, Hispanics and Spanish speakers, unemployed, and others.

Clients of the free food pantries in Wake County can also get other items so that the individual and their family can make it through a difficult period. Many of the pantry locations also have staff that can help individuals apply for public aid such as food stamps or USDA free school lunches. Or the homebound and elderly can apply for free Meals on Wheels services. Or even learn why you may have been denied food stamps.
