Free food pantries and groceries.

Often in partnership with the Regional Foodbank as well as churches, there are many pantries in Pottawatomie County for low income families. Based on the clients income, need, and town of residency, the charities as well as non-profits provide free groceries, food, and more. Some also serve hot lunches to the homeless and working poor. Find additional information below.

The food pantries try not to turn anyone away, but it does depend on funding and resources. In general, a Pottawatomie County food bank may be able to offer a 2-5 day supply of groceries for each member of the family. But as noted this will depend on availability. Another focus is on long term stability, and this is where food stamps applications may be offered.

As a bonus, some of the church run pantries also operate clothing banks. This means that a box of free food may be combined with other support, such as household supplies. The main locations are below.
