Several charities and churches in Pinellas County Florida provide free clothes, furniture for a home or apartment, school supplies, diapers and household items for low-income families. There is free stuff for people as well as children who need it. There will also be kitchen goods, free beds or couches, cribs, appliance and more. The exact type and amount of items available at these clothing closets or free furniture banks will vary widely, but the stuff is free for income qualified seniors, single moms, and families. There may be clothes for work, free back to school supplies or uniforms, or even appliances like fridges, washers or dryers as well as laptop computers. Look here for free laptops near you.

What is available for a free giveaway will depend on what has been contributed from people in the community, and this can change over the course of the year. Many of the centers in the region, including in St. Petersburg, will also offer work clothes. Or get free maternity items, shoes, school supplies for students from K-12, baby stuff, basic furniture and much more. The items provided to low income and struggling families depends on donation levels.

While most of what is available is considered as secondhand, it is maintained and will be in decent shape. The non-profit provides quality used and new clothing to those who qualify. Resources are limited to 2 wardrobes per year. Items are offered for free to low-income, school-age children in Pinellas County. Appointments may be needed during the busy periods.

Bethlehem Seventh Day Adventist Church – Clothing closet

The location offers some baby supplies and baby/toddler clothing when available. This includes free diapers, strollers, diapers, and information on food and formula.

People That Love Mission

A free clothing closet, food pantry and furniture bank are on site. Whether groceries, small furniture supplies like tables or beds, or a hot meal, the charity may be able to help low income households.

St. Petersburg and Pinellas County Salvation Army
The charity has multiple locations in the region. The non-profit charity may have a clothing voucher that can be used at the Family or Thrift Stores. In addition, victims of fire or a disaster must be referred by The American Red Cross to the agency. Birthday gifts and clothes may be passed out too. Metropolitan Ministries (Pinellas County)

Catholic Charities clothing banks and Thrift Stores
There are a few locations in the region, including Saint Pete and Clearwater. They provide free clothes to senior citizens, immigrants, and the working poor among others.
