Get free stuff, including food or clothes, from SVDP

Too many children, seniors, immigrants (documented or not), and lower income families struggle to feed their household every month. The cost of groceries, especially healthy ones, is often beyond their resources. Especially when faced with all the other living expenses out there, such as housing, rent, and energy costs.

To address this need, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Conroe has a free food pantry as well as some occasional meals. There is also a free clothing bank for clothes or small household goods. If someone can’t make it to the site (such as a senior citizen or homebound person), then the Meals on Wheels service may come in handy. Volunteer Vincentians will bring them either a frozen or hot meals, and the homebound person just needs to heat it up.

Other free stuff may be given to low income families, based on what has been donated to the Society Church. As the faith based charity may have furniture items, school supplies, refurbished computers for student or people that work from home, small appliances, fans to cool a home during the summer, and so much more. SVDP tries to provide the goods the client needs - based on what is in stock of course. Learn more on, and find free stuff near you.

In addition to the food at the pantry, the team can also help the client apply for public food assistance. The 3 main programs are SNAP food stamps, WIC vouchers for new moms or babies, and then also USDA free school lunch programs to help feed kids. All these applications are also offered in Spanish. There are some other state of Texas food assistance programs, but those are the main ones.
