Families that need assistance can contact a food bank, soup kitchen or free pantry in Marion County Florida. Churches, charities, government organizations, and social service agencies provide free groceries, personal hygiene supplies, hot meals and more to low-income families or people with no money who needs help. The list below includes many of the primary distribution centers and pantries in Ocala as well as Marion County Florida, including those that are open today. Each will administer its own assistance programs, be open certain hours, and they may have qualifications that need to be met. Some charities also have soup kitchens or Meals on Wheels delivery and food for seniors for free from the government.

Rarely will anyone be turned away. The local branch of the national Salvation Army charity. Resources offered include an on-site food pantry and thrift store. There are free Thanksgiving turkey dinners too. Other programs can offer electric bill help, housing and rent assistance, LIHEAP applications, and shelter. They also help with applications to USDA commodities, SNAP food stamps and government aid.
