Williamsport and Lycoming County rental assistance programs.

Charities, churches, and the government in Lycoming County may often be able to provide emergency rent assistance. There will be funds used to help a qualified low income family or individual make it through a short term crisis, and preventing homelessness is one reason that can qualify an applicant for a housing program.

There is financial assistance available to pay back rent, security deposits, rehousing costs (moving or landlord application fees), and even energy bill costs. Anything housing related may qualify. While the services may help pay for a multitude of costs, the Williamsport agencies will have limited funding. However tenants can also try one or more of the agencies for any rental assistance that they may have.

If all else fails, a Lycoming County agency may be able to give referrals to another local housing program or charity that has money for rent. Whether it is a shelter, loan programs, transitional housing site, or even agency on aging centers for a senior citizen, there may be some form of help offered.
