There are several organizations, listed below, that offer short- or long-term housing resources. Not only may back rent be paid, or a deposit, storage costs, or moving expenses, but there are also free lawyers to assistance in eviction court. Livingston Parish Catholic Charities – Homeless Prevention & Rapid Rehousing
Regardless of religion, the faith-based charity and its churches offers support. This uses government grants to pay housing costs, ranging from rental arrears to mortgages, rent for mobile homes, moving deposits and more. In some cases, there may be government money to pay a hotel or motel room. Utility bills or connection fees can also be paid by the charity to stop homelessness.  Phone 225-336-8700.
