Lexington County food pantries.

Food pantries are available for residents of Lexington County and towns such as Irmo. The locations, most of which operate as non-profits, try to feed the less fortunate. Whether the person is disabled, a senior citizen, or a single parent with children, free food banks can be turned to in an emergency.

More information on the primary food pantries in the region are below. The locations will try their best to not turn anyone away. Some of what may be provided includes free groceries, non-perishable food items, or baby formula. The Lexington South Carolina centers will also have a meal for the homeless, or maybe serve special Thanksgiving or Christmas meals.

The last service often available is benefits screening. Staff at the local food pantries will try to help individuals determine whether they are eligible for any type of state or federal benefits through a wide variety of public and private programs at this site, such as SNAP food stamps. Or clients can explore the regional Meals on Wheels service.
