Free Christmas programs Johnson County Kansas

There are several agencies in Johnson County KS that offer free Christmas, Thanksgiving and other holiday help. They are based in Overland Park Kansas and other local communities throughout the county. Families or children can apply for free Toys for Tots, Angel Tree, Adopt a Family and other programs, including free holiday food boxes. The charities as well as volunteers that work for them do their best to ensure that every child has a free gift or toy to open Christmas morning and that every family has a hot holiday meal or box of food given to them. What is passed out will vary, but may be gift cards for toys, Legos, dolls, Christmas decorations or shopping at local stores. The exact items available at Christmas depend on donations.

Other charities focus on serving meals, especially to seniors and/or the lonely. Low income families as well as Hispanics and immigrants can get help. They arrange Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, give small toys to kids, and operate a clothing closet. The faith based charity provides many forms of assistance. Single moms can register for season assistance, such as free Christmas toys, books, or games. There are also school supplies, shelter for the homeless, and a daily, 300+ day per year meal service.

They help the working poor, jobless, homeless and unemployed. Free warm shelters, Christmas gifts or games, books, underwear and more. There are also free Thanksgiving or Christmas meals, warm clothes and other goods.

Johnson County Multi-Service Centers
There are several. Referrals are given to various social services, which may include holiday food baskets. There are holiday programs, free Christmas presents or books for kids, food baskets for the unemployed and more.
