Free Christmas assistance and holiday help in Hudson County New Jersey.

Several charities in Hudson County New Jersey provide assistance during the Christmas or Thanksgiving holidays. Families with children can get free toys, games, food baskets, or gifts and the entire household may be given a hot meal. Find where to get free Toys for Tots in Jersey City, Adopt a Family or Angel Tree applications in Hudson County NJ, Hoboken and the city. More information on the leading agencies to apply at are listed below.

The application period for a Thanksgiving meal or Turkey will usually take place a couple months before the holiday. Priority is to help single mothers, the low-income, elderly or disabled in Jersey City and the county. When it comes to request a Christmas toy for a child, programs like Angel Tree or Toys for Tots will normally require the parent to enroll around September or October. The demand is always high, and while the charities try to help everyone, this may not always be possible based on donation levels.

Hudson County programs may provide games, toys, dolls for girls, Legos, video games or consoles, free gift cards or trucks for boys. It will really depend on the child's age as well as what the Jersey City community has donated to these Christmas programs. There are no guarantees to getting help.
