Free food pantries and groceries in Hernando County.

Find how to get free groceries and meals in Hernando County. The area is served by a couple dozen pantries as well as soup kitchens that may be near you, and are listed below. Whether the food distribution occurs at a church or another non-profit agency, there is help for families of all incomes and backgrounds. Many locations also serve free Thanksgiving or Christmas meals, or they give out hygiene supplies. Also find a phone number at the bottom of the page for more referrals.

The staff will also provide information on how to shop more effectively on a limited budget and coordinate other hunger prevention services. Volunteers from across the community, including across Hernando County, hold food drives today and the pantries help the less fortunate. They also collect surplus items from local restaurants as well as grocery stores, ranging from Kroger to others. These goods will then passed out from the food pantry.

The boxes may contain everything from non-perishable items to fruits, vegetables, and much more. Or, inquire at a location into holiday meals or resources such as clothing.
