Whether someone is a senior, disabled, or just living on a low income, the Henry County St. Vincent de Paul may have resources available. They can help a family deal with a food or rent (housing) emergency and also direct them to long term support as well. Resources are limited, and program terms will change, but some of what is provided is as follows.

Henry County Society of St. Vincent de Paul, as well as partners, try to prevent homelessness across Henry County. This resource is for struggling individuals in the community who seek employment, who want better skills or are currently unemployed. The center is also available for veterans returning to civilian life, recent college graduates, a homemaker returning to the workforce or a professional switching careers.

Staff from Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Henry County may also volunteer at the center. It was created to be an equal opportunity employer and a service provider committed to affirmative action. Medical and dental referrals

For homeless individuals and families in the community, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul through HUD receives a grant to help them transition to temporary and long term, stable housing. There may also be emergency funds for paying a portion of rent that may be due. Each participants receives individual case management services as well. There may be assistance with locating and obtaining temporary housing (shelters or hotels), Budget counseling, assistance with locating and obtaining permanent housing, Information and Referral, life skills education, and employment linkages.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul will also help the disabled and those with a mental condition. The Permanent Supportive Housing Program was created to help those from those groups who struggle with chronic homelessness.

There are furnished apartments available across Henry County that various partners run. Any interested persons must apply for and be eligible for the HUD voucher. Clients are between the ages of 18 years and 28 years who are struggling with mental illness and homelessness. The program secures for them affordable housing and will help pay a portion of their rent or deposit, based on a percent of their income.

Henry County St. Vincent de Paul Homelessness Prevention is the main focus for grants from ESG. Temporary financial help for back rent or a security deposit, housing relocation and various stabilization services are provided to needy, vulnerable individuals and families who face an imminent eviction. Any tenant applying for a grant from ESG must provide a legal eviction notice and would otherwise be homeless without this aid.
