Financial assistance can be provided by churches, charities, or government agencies in New Braunfels, Seguin, and the county. Also find free internet for low income, including students or workers. Randolph Area Christian Assistance Program is also known as RACAP. Regardless of your religion or background, the needy and low income can access emergency assistance programs. These include emergency rental assistance, eviction prevention, prescription drugs, and information on government programs and other local non-profits. Seguin Unit of the Salvation Army is the local branch of the nation’s leading non-profit charity. Call to speak to a social worker to learn about financial assistance programs. Assistance programs and information is in Spanish too.

Resources offered include free food, including holiday meals and Christmas toys from Adopt a Family. There is emergency financial assistance with utility and cooling bills, rent help, prescription medications, disaster relief assistance, and work clothes. The Eats Foundation is a non-profit to call for food or emergency financial assistance. Or stop by their office at 767 S. Saunders, Seguin, Texas 78155. The center may be able to offer qualified families with emergency financial assistance for paying for basic needs. Get help with utilities and medications that are not provided in the formulary. The Christian Cupboard, Inc. pays for and sponsors a food bank for the low income. 516 N. Camp, Seguin, Texas 78155, (830)379-4857

Country Church Attic is at 1005 W. FM 78, Marion, Texas.  The Attic at The Country Church, serves residents of Guadalupe County who live at or below federal poverty levels, with monthly assistance in food or groceries. There is also free clothing, school supplies, household items, and toys for birthdays and Christmas.  The charity is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9-2pm. Call (830) 914-3133

There are more free food pantries, soup kitchens and clothing closets. Not only may groceries be offered, but some charities have free clothes, applications to SNAP food stamps, and hygiene items. Save on prescription drugs

County officials offer prescription medicine discount cards that can save individuals over 20 percent on the purchase price of most medications. The card is free for residents, the application process is quick and simple, and there is no cost to acquire the card, and no premiums to pay.

The National Association of Counties provides these cards for the prescription discount program for Guadalupe County residents. The government also works in it as well.

The assistance program, which Caremark and NACo make available in hundreds of counties across the state of Texas, is used by thousands of residents. Iit is free card that automatically saves more than 20 percent on most drugs. Brand name and generic medications can be bought. The cards are primarily used to help those people who do not have health insurance or who are underinsured from their current insurance plans. However anyone can use them. Dial 803-303-8854.
