Ocean County New Jersey free clothing closets, furniture banks and school supplies.

Families are struggling with providing basic needs and many turn to clothing closets in Ocean County New Jersey. Locations may pass out free back to school supplies, clothes for adults or children, diapers, appliances, furniture and more. Several of the leading churches, charities, and non-profits that operate in the region are listed below. Hundreds of families turn to them on a monthly basis. Many others receive free Christmas or birthday toys, school items, and so called seasonal supplies from the clothing banks.

While not everyone will qualify for free items or a voucher, the client may still receive referrals or other support. Or the resident can shop at a thrift store or furniture bank for household items in Ocean County. All of these centers focus on helping the least fortunate in the community, including children, students, the unemployed, and elderly. They may provide free clothing items such as winter coats or clothes, boots, school supplies or shoes. During the holidays, toys or gifts may be passed out. Volunteers and donations are needed as well.

Many social services are administered. They include a free clothing closet, low cost thrift store and furniture bank too. Holiday gifts and toys may be offered to children by the Angel Tree program. Each year students from elementary to high school age can get free school supplies for the new year as well. Seniors and the working poor can also get their needs met. Some of what may be distributed includes baby wipes (for infants and children), Toothpaste and toothbrushes, sanitary hygiene products, Plastic cups and baby bottles, and other basic needs and personal goods.
