Low income families households in Fort Bend County can get free assistance during the Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays. There are programs including Toys for Tots, Angel Tree, Adopt a Family (all of which give out free Christmas gifts or toys) as well as free food baskets and meal programs, including Thanksgiving turkeys. A number of charities and non-profits partner together as part of the Fort Bend County Collaborative Information System to provide free Christmas gifts, toys, gift cards, clothing and more. Social Services also helps the elderly, disabled, and low income during the holidays. There are also pantries and soup kitchens for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, churches, Salvation Army holiday programs and several others. Salvation Army Fort Bend County holiday programs
They operate Angel Tree and other programs. Get Easter Baskets, free Thanksgiving turkey dinners, or Christmas food. As far as Christmas, free presents are for kids. FBCCIS - Fort Bend County Collaborative Information System affiliated organizations. Almost 20 non-profits, housing authorities and charities participate. The assistance program is known as Santa Claus is Coming. It helps children under the age of 15. Free Christmas clothes, games, gift cards, tablets, shoes, toy trucks and dolls and other items are offered. Call 211 to apply. Children can also meet Santa Claus and they run the Santa’s Exchange program too.

Fort Bend County Social Services

Free Toys for Tots in Fort Bend County
Many companies, non-profits, and municipal agencies participate, including Sugar Land Fire Department, Rotary Clubs, Wal-Mart, Fort Bend Exchange and others. They collect new toys, Christmas gifts, financial donations, clothes and more. All of the items, such as Lagos, video games, dolls and more are given to qualified low income children under the age of 18 down to infant age.
