Fairfield County food pantries.
Churches as well as non-profits in Lancaster Ohio provide free food to the needy. The pantries will assist regardless of age, race, or religion. In fact, many senior citizens as well as children in the Fairfield County area will take priority. The reason this is the case is that the non-profit focus on ensuring the most vulnerable do not go hungry.
Any emergency assistance from a food bank is combined with case management. This can include everything from employment to applying for long term support from SNAP food stamps or some other government benefit. The goal is to not only feed the family, but also stop a recurrence of hunger from occurring.
Other assistance ranges from Meals on Wheels to free Holiday and Thanksgiving meals. However, much of that is available from the Fairfield County soup kitchens.
