Find free school supplies in Newark and Essex County New Jersey.

There are many charities that have free back to school supply giveaways in Essex County New Jersey. They help low income families, single parents, and students get the back to school items they need for the upcoming school year, ranging from free backpacks to shoes, clothing, sneakers, slacks, dresses, and so much more. A list of agencies and charities to try for assistance are below.

Many different school supplies may be given away, generally during the summer or fall months. Qualified applicants from the Newark area and country may be given some or all of the following: Backpacks, Calculators, Notebooks, Pens, Book Covers, Hi-lighters, Rulers, Folders, Markers, Pencil Sharpeners and so much more. Some of the free school supply events will also provide free gift cards for shopping (such as at Wal-Mart) or tablets, electronics, and even computers.

A free clothing bank and food pantry are on site. During the summer months there are free book bags and other supplies given out first come-served.

Essex County Salvation Army
A leading charity. Many seasonal events are held, including free Christmas toys and school supplies. They also offer shelter, emergency financial help, and more. An annual one day event in Essex County. All sorts of free school goods and stuff is passed out. Among them includes clothes or uniforms (pants, hats, gloves, shorts, dresses). There are more everyday items such as books, free backpacks, rulers, and other school supplies. Other some students and their parents can be given free personal or hygiene supplies, including haircuts, soap, and even immunizations.
