Free Christmas and holiday assistance El Paso County Texas

Whether at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or another holiday, there is assistance for less fortunate El Paso TX families. Children can receive free Christmas gifts from Adopt a Family or Angel Tree programs. Toys for Tots also helps kids or teens from low income families all across El Paso County Texas. Low-income families can get free Christmas gifts, Thanksgiving meals, gift cards and more, and holiday help is offered countywide including for kids from immigrant households.

There may also be entire meals served by some charities or churches, including at Thanksgiving or Christmas More information on the free toy and food programs in the community are below, with free holiday assistance programs available in Spanish as well as to immigrants (documented or not).

Donations are used from the El Paso County Texas community to fund these Christmas programs. There are new or gently used items collected by local non-profits, charities, and businesses. This ranges from toys to games, gift cards, clothing, computers, Legos and educational supplies such as books. Then, during the appropriate holiday, volunteers from the El Paso County Texas charities will pass out the items to income qualified families.

Most of the assistance is for children and senior citizens in the community. They are often the focus of the staff at the non-profits, as this want these groups to experience some type of joy at Thanksgiving as well as Christmas.

Salvation Army

An annual toy give away occurs in December of each year. There are also adopt a family programs, holiday meals delivered to the elderly, and other services. There is also a Thanksgiving turkey meal. Regardless of religion, they offer assistance, including free Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas programs. There is help for immigrants, refugees, migrants and others. Resources are limited, but free food or hot meals, groceries for a holiday meal, small Christmas gifts, turkey or meat dinners and more. They help the community acclimate.

Free Christmas gifts, bikes, and presents are for children. A priority is on military families. Then other children that are part of charities such as the YMCA may also get a holiday toy.

Toys For Tots of El Paso County Texas
The donation program relies on businesses and members of the community. Toys, gifts, clothing, games, legos, video game consoles, and more may be provided for free. Clients range from single parents to the working poor, migrants and families in an emergency crisis in El Paso TX. The Marine Corps also are a key partner. Assistance for Christmas is also available for Spanish speakers and immigrants, including from Mexico. Assistance League of El Paso and STARS

The national non-profit works with an agency called STARTS to offer holiday help. This may be free Christmas gifts for kids including migrants and Spanish speakers. There may be clothes, games, electronics, books, bikes and other presents. Parents may be given holiday food baskets or gift cards for shopping at stores including Target.

Referral Line
Other churches and charities in El Paso County give free Christmas toys, Thanksgiving meals, presents, and other holiday help. There are giveaway events, free Christmas events or parties for immigrants and Spanish speakers, free games, and more.   • The El Paso Civic Center - Meals are served at Thanksgiving and Christmas time from this location. The referral service above can direct you.
  • Junior League of El Paso is based at 155 McCutcheon, El Paso, TX 79932. They have an annual Christmas fair, in which children can get small toys and celebrate the holidays.
  • El Paso County Sheriff’s Office “Santa with a Badge” - Businesses conduct toy drives for the community. For more information on how to apply, dial 211 for referrals.

Central SDA Church of el Paso

A free food pantry and soup kitchen. There will be free ingredients for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas dinners among other holiday meals.

St. Vincent De Paul
