This is the local Dakota County community action agency. A number of programs provide short term assistance, including food and hot meals. At the same time the agency will help people become self-sufficient. Other services include LIHEAP, weatherization, applications to baby formula from WIC and emergency SNAP food stamps. This is the local community action agency.

Messiah Lutheran Church

The charity has hot meals for very low income families. The program in Dakota County is known as Feed My Sheep Food Shelf. A pantry is also on site, and they run the Meals on Wheels service for senior citizens. They help low-income families, the homeless, and single moms get free groceries they need today.

Eagan & Lakeville Resource Centers

The non-profit offers Free Food for seniors and other income qualified elderly and residents. The main resource they offer from this facility is the Nutrition Assistance for Seniors (NAPS) supplemental food program. Government commodities, vouchers, and other food assistance is provided.

Salvation Army Dakota County
The main service they offer is a food bank as well as the Our Daily Bread food shelf. They also run several federal government USDA supported programs in Dakota County. Or get a Thanksgiving turkey dinner, box of fresh or canned food and other stuff. This is run in partnership with 360 Communities and other local social service agencies. Mission Outpost - Prince of Peace Lutheran Church

The non-profit pantry has fruits, paper goods, hygiene items, canned meats, rice, and more. Clients include the disabled, children, and unemployed families. There is also a soup kitchen to feed homeless people in Dakota County.
