A few Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday assistance programs help low income families in Cameron County. The charities and churches provide free Christmas gifts, toys, books, and clothes to children. Entire families, whether they are low income or just struggling, may be given free groceries for a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, or maybe served an entire meal too.
