A family store at the Brazoria County Salvation Army is open to the general public. This center is key to funding the assistance programs they administer. As not only may the Salvation Army provide household supplies, clothing, and similar goods, but there may on occasion be money to pay for emergency rent or even utility bill assistance to stop homelessness.

A focus of the organization is on assisting people so that they can help themselves. This is where the case management process comes into play. While a client is working towards addressing the cause of their crisis, they may be provided food, housing assistance, and other resources for short term needs. But this will depend on what is available at the center, as funding changes and varies throughout the year.

When the Brazoria County Salvation Army can't meet a request (or if they are just out of funding), then referrals maybe given. The charity, and the volunteers and case workers that are on site, are a general resource for the community. The thrift store relies on donations. So do some of the other services provided. The Brazoria County Salvation Army will use any surplus funds they have (after paying operating expenses) to help the needy with housing, food, and more.
