When using the Boone County Salvation Army food pantry, it can only be accessed a few times per year. Also, “shoppers” should bring a bag or box to pack their groceries into.
The Salvation Army in Boone County also operates seasonal services. The largest is for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. This is where parents with children under the age of 13 can apply for toys or a meal, including free Turkeys at Thanksgiving. Another major program to help children is back to school supplies. This is where a child from a low income household can get a uniform, notebook, pens, pencils, boots, and other items they need for a new school year.
