While some years are worse than others, in general inflation is taking away from Americans paychecks. Whether it is the cost of medical care or prescriptions, or even trying to pay rent or a mortgage, the cost of living goes up faster than household wages. This is where the SVDP thrift store as well as food banks and clothing closets in Bonneville County can assist. All of these provide goods to families which will in effect free up their income for paying their everyday bills.

The programs for basic needs all operate differently. The thrift store sells gently used goods. The second option is the free clothing closet, and this offers vouchers (at no cost) so people can obtain the goods they need. The food bank is more straightforward; free groceries (perishable and non) are given out from it.

The goal of these various services is to allow the family to obtain what are otherwise critical goods to living. As with prices going up for those core bills we referenced, budgets often have nothing left for the food, clothes, etc. So this is where the St. Vincent de Paul resources in Bonneville County may be very beneficial. Bonneville County SVDP emergency services

The Emergency Assistance Program offers programming, financial aid and support services that help those in temporary emergency situations. The resources available can help people avoid descending more deeply into crisis or even catastrophe. The Saint Vincent de Paul process begins with a conversation with a volunteer interviewer, during which barriers, needs and along list of possible solutions are discussed.

In order to get a grant, loan or financial aid, applicants are required to bring documentation. Society of Saint Vincent de Paul parishes will require valid Social Security cards, picture identification, copies of utility bills, lease as well as rent statements, and proof of disability (when appropriate) to this visit.

SVDP provides free groceries from the food pantry (see above), prescriptions, rental and/or utility bill assistance. Staff members from the non-profit, or their partners such as the United Way, provide support, motivation, and encouragement. This is done for case management and is for clients as explore their options and work toward stability and a better future.

Health and medical needs can be met by partners of Saint Vincent de Paul in Bonneville County. Local community clinics as well as hospitals may give out free check ups, immunizations, vaccinations and more. Low income as well as uninsured in the Idaho Falls region can also avail themselves of these programs. Find free community clinics in Idaho.

The program eligibility for emergency aid is based on individual need and whether or not we've provided assistance in the past. That that a cash grant is only offered to the first  eligible participants as funds allow. This financial assistance is available by appointment only, and is limited to once per 24-month period for each household.
