Wood and Hancock County rental assistance programs.

Assistance for paying rent is often limited in Wood and Hancock County to families facing an eviction. There may also be help in paying for a security deposit on a new home if someone needs to relocate as they are homeless. No matter what the need is, emergency rental assistance programs are very limited and often have a waiting list in place.

Each resource available will come with restrictions and conditions. Some will require a co-pay from the tenant, and others will only subsidize a small portion of any rent that is due. Other non-profits that address housing needs collaborate with the counseling agencies to ensure the person has all of their needs dealt with.

With those conditions being in place, low income families in Hancock and Wood can apply for rent help. Or other services that may be provided range from section 8 vouchers to landlord and tenant mediation as well as legal aid.
