Emergency St. Vincent De Paul assistance programs in Whitfield County.

Residents of Whitfield County that need a little financial help, maybe baby formula, food from the St. Vincent De Paul pantry, or referrals can stop in to the center. The staff do their part to make the challenges faced by a struggling household a little easier. Case managers provide free, confidential advice and support to people.

The aid is for individuals that are in a crisis and that are not positive how they will buy food or pay a bill this month. The Society of St. Vincent De Paul in Dalton is available to help people from all sorts of backgrounds with housing, food, and more. They may provide funds or loans, help immigrants obtain documents or ID, and also offer referrals to other charitable and government resources.

The local parish is part of St. Josephs church, and this St. Vincent charity operates both a food bank and thrift store. They are client choice set ups, so give families the ability to shop for what they need and make choices on their own. Whether it is a certain type of food, clothing, bedding, school supplies, personal hygiene products or other necessities, these two resources empower residents.

The emergency food pantry helps clients meet their dietary needs by providing supplements once per month to the needy. Furthermore, each year during October and November, the Whitfield County St. Vincent De Paul sponsors Operation Turkey, a program that distributes free Thanksgiving meals to a number of county residents.

St. Vincent De Paul of Whitfield Emergency Assistance Program is available on a first come, first served basis for people that have submitted  all required documentation, and that have been approved for a grant. The service was created to provide very short term rental assistance, a small supply of food, utilities, household products, work attire, etc. for individuals and families. The applicant will need to be residing in Whitfield County. In some cases, financial help is also for transients or immigrants who are experiencing a financial crisis, or maybe they need identification to help get them on the path to stability. All policies and registration procedures will need to be met.

Anyone seeking assistance needs to have a crisis beyond their control. In addition, St. Vincent De Pau of Whitfield County Georgia can of course not meet all of the demand on their own, and they also can't screen all applicants. Therefore the church partners with agencies such as the Salvation Army as well as Social Services to administer the funds from the Emergency Assistance Program.
