Westmoreland County food pantries.

Dozens of food pantries are located across Westmoreland County. Centers are located at churches as well as a number of charity organizations, and each will offer basic needs to the community. Depending on the location, there may be free boxes of food, fresh produce, and more. Some of the pantries will even have clothing or personal hygiene items.

Many of the food banks also have staff on hand that offer other support. Low income families in Westmoreland County can meet with a case manager to get an applications for public aid such as SNAP food stamps. Or the staff will refer the client to special Christmas or Thanksgiving meal sites. So not only is free food given out in an emergency, but the centers can often help arrange many other types of assistance to the working poor.
